Jennifer Lawrence, Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games (2012)
She volunteered as tribute, and the rest is history. By the time she said yes to playing iconic heroine Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence already had one Oscar nomination under her belt (Best Actress for 2010's Winter's Bone) and one X-Men film already released as Mystique (2011's X-Men: First Class). But Lawrence became a superstar as District 12 tribute Katniss in the four films adapted from Suzanne Collins's best-selling YA novels.
All four films earned more than $650 million worldwide each, with Catching Fire taking in the highest box office at $865 million.

Oscar Isaac, Outcome #3, The Bourne Legacy (2012)
Oscar Isaac's career has been on a steady climb in the past few years, especially after his acclaimed roles in Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year, and Ex Machina. And then he was in a little indie film called Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But before he joined the Star Wars universe as Poe Dameron, and X-Men: Apocalypse as the new villain En Sabah Nur, he was an Operation Outcome asset in the one Bourne movie that did not feature Jason Bourne at all.
The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, and Isaac's exiled Outcome #3 operates the remote Alaskan cabin where Cross arrives. Matt Damon returns to the Bournefranchise to action on July 29th in a movie simply titled Jason Bourne.

Olivia Munn, Jen, Deliver Us From Evil (2014)
Before Olivia Munn joined the X-Men franchise she had a brief stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as reporter Chess Roberts in Iron Man 2. 2016 has been a busy year for Munn, inX-Men: Apocalypse, she plays Elizabeth Braddock/Psylocke a ninja assassin with telekinetic powers, and she just had roles in two sequels — Ride Along 2 and Zoolander 2. She also had a supporting role in the Deliver Us from Evil, as Jen Sarchie, wife of Ralph Sarchie, the main character played by Eric Bana.
The paranormal thriller was originally called Beware the Night, based on the non-fiction book by Ralphie Sarchie and Lisa Collier Cool, and the movie was billed as "inspired by the actual accounts of an NYPD sergeant." Although Deliver Us From Evil received an IMDb rating of 6.1 the film was a box office success, taking in $87.9 million worldwide against a $30 million budget

Michael Fassbender, Burke, Jonah Hex (2010)
Michael Fassbender now has two Oscar nominations (12 Years a Slave, Steve Jobs) and dozens of major roles in his filmography, but he's only been acting in films for 10 years, with his first movie credit as a Spartan in Zack Snyder's 300 in 2006.
Like his X-Men character, Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, Fassbender can easily switch back and forth from hero to villain. In 2010's Jonah Hex, Fassbender was squarely on the villain side.Josh Brolin played the title DC Comics character in the sci-fi Western story set during the U.S. Civil War. Fassbender played Burke, the psychopathic right-hand man of John Malkovich's villainous Turnbull. Fassbender told ScreenCrave he found a bowler hat for his character and decided, "I’m going to go along that vein and do Clockwork Orange meetsFrank Gorshin, 1970′s Riddler with a Carrey accent."

Nicholas Hoult, Nux, Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
In George Miller's post-apocalyptic Mad Max: Fury Road, Hoult is nearly unrecognizable as War Boy Nux, who worships Immortan Joe and longs to ride eternal, shiny and chrome, to the gates of Valhalla. It's quite a different role from Hank McCoy, aka Beast, in the X-Menworld, and far from the British actor's major debut as 12-year-old Marcus opposite Hugh Grant's Will Freeman in the 2002 film About a Boy. Fury Road, the fourth film in the Mad Max franchise, was a massive hit with just about everyone, earning an 8.1 rating from IMDb users, along with six Oscars and 185 other award wins.

Evan Peters, Todd, Kick-Ass (2010)
Evan Peters stole the show in his debut as Quicksilver in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, but he still has a lot more TV credits on his resume than film, including roles in every season of "American Horror Story." Before joining the X-Men universe, Peters was part of another group of comic book superheroes in the action comedy Kick-Ass Peters played the supporting role of Todd, one of the two best friends of main character Dave/Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). The film itself — co-starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicolas Cage, and Mark Strong — was successful enough to merit a 2013 sequel, but Peters did not return to the role of Todd, due to scheduling conflicts with “American Horror Story.”
