Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 ‘Very Different’ from Each Other

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 'Very Different' from Each Other

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 ‘very different’ from each other

In just a few weeks, Marvel Studios will release Captain America: Civil War, officially kicking off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All of that will come to a close with Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. Based on the two titles (and the recent release pattern of films being split in two), one might assume the two will simply be two halves of one movie, but co-director Anthony Russo says they’re both different.
“The movies are very very different from one another,” Anthony tells io9. “It’s not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They’re just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we’re shooting them at the same time.”
Anthony’s brother Joe chimed in as well, noting that their work from Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War will carry over, in terms of story and what they learned in making them.
“There’s an overarching story that’s going to be told through all four films. And I think having the amount of characters we have in [Civil War] certainly prepares us to deal with probably triple the amount of characters in Infinity War.”
In further Infinity War news, screenwriter Christopher Markus was asked about Thanos and how, despite three appearances in the MCU, audiences don’t know anything about him.
“We don’t get an element of surprise. Everyone knows he’s coming, and yet he hasn’t had terribly many scenes that have illuminated very much about him,” Markus tells ScreenCrush. “You can count on a lot of scenes where we illuminate a lot about him very early.”
What about after Infinity War? Marvel Studios already has release dates for three mystery movies set for 2020, but Kevin Feige says they’re focusing on what they’ve announced right now.
“We’re only working on what’s been announced through the end of 2019,” Feige told io9“And it is still a big chess board for 2020 and beyond, but certainly I would say Guardians 3 is [one film that’s] up there. I don’t know what exactly the order will be.”
Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is slated for release in theaters on May 4, 2018; Part 2 will open on May 3, 2019. The three mystery movies are set to debut May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.

Peyton Reed: Ant-Man and the Wasp Will Feature Things ‘Never Seen in a Movie Before’

Peyton Reed: Ant-Man and the Wasp Will Feature Things Never Seen in a Movie

Peyton Reed teases Ant-Man and the Wasp

Tonight, Marvel Studios held the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War and among those heroes that sided with the star-spangled man was Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man. On the “blue carpet” for the film, director Peyton Reed was asked about the tiny hero’s own upcoming sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and offered a giant-sized teaser for what to expect.
“We’re hard at work writing the movie right now. So we’ve been holed up in a room, Paul Rudd, myself, Adam McKay, Gabriel Ferrari, and Andrew Barrer, who are our writers. So we’re all brainstorming the story. I think the only thing I can tell you with certainty at this point, because we’re still about two years away from the movie coming out, is that it’s going to have stuff in it that you’ve never ever seen in a movie before.”
You can check out the full video with Peyton Reed in the player below!
Ant-Man and the Wasp will feature the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne with Michael Douglas also expected to reprise the role of Hank Pym in the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6, 2018. Its predecessor previously grossed over $519 million at the global box office.

Ben Affleck confirmed to direct and star in stand-alone Batman movie

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice having earned $785.8 million worldwide so far, Warner Bros. Pictures is looking to extend its relationship with their new Batman, Ben Affleck. Having previously been contracted for the Justice League: Part One and Part Two movies, it was confirmed on Tuesday by Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara at CinemaCon that Affleck will direct and star in a stand-alone Batman movie as well.
Last summer, it was revealed that Affleck would co-write the stand-alone Batman movie with comic scribe Geoff Johns with an eye toward directing it, though no further information on the film had been released since.
Production on Justice League: Part One has begun in London. Affleck will be joined by his fellow Justice League members Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Amber Heard is set to play Queen Mera in the film as well before moving to the solo Aquaman movie in 2018, with J.K. It’s Official! Spider-Man Homecoming Arrives in 2017

Kevin Feige Confirms Marvel Studios Characters Will Appear in Spider-Man Homecoming.

Jon Watt’s 2017 solo Spidey film is officially titled Spider-Man Homecoming

Although Tom Holland, the Marvel cinematic universe’s new Spider-Man, hit the red carpet for today’s Captain America: Civil War premiere earlier tonight, it seems he immediately boarded a plane and flew to Las Vegas to surprise the crowd at CinemaCon 2016. There, as part of the Sony Pictures presentation, Holland helped announce that next summer’s solo Spidey film has a title. As has been rumored for a few days, the July 7, 2017 release will be titled Spider-Man Homecoming.
“It really is a homecoming,” Holland told the crowd, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”
Earlier this week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige teased that Spider-Man Homecoming will feature characters from throughout the MCU. Fans will get to see Holland’s webslinger interacting with their favorite Marvel superheroes a lot sooner than next summer, however, as Spidey is slated to make his debut in Civil War. In fact, a new clip from Civil War ended the Sony Pictures presentation, offering a look at Peter Parker’s first encounter with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. In the clip, Parker comes home to find Tony sitting on the couch with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). Parker is surprised to see the famous billionaire playboy superhero sitting in living room and can only nod as Tony winks at him, clearly aware of his secret identity. Helping hide that secret from May (about whom Tony jokes, “It’s hard to believe she’s anyone’s aunt”), Stark pretends that Peter applied for a special program with Stark Industries and has been selected.
Scripted by Vacation writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Spider-Man Homecoming is also confirmed to star Zendaya as another lead character named Michelle. It will hit regular theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.
